Looking to add a hardworking, physically fit, energetic, positive, NDT Technician Assistant to our Altec team! NDT Technician will work as assistant to senior technicians / under supervision until deemed competent by Supervisor/Management. Must have CGSB recognized Foundation Courses or Materials Engineering Technologist diploma. Must be able to pass drug and alcohol test. Must be clean shaven for safety reasons. Must have valid Class 5 (or Class 7) driver’s license and have own transportation to and from office which is located in Charlie Lake area. This is not a camp position, but may be required to work in remote locations away from Fort St. John for short durations. Person would need to supply own CSA approved steel toed work boots. Must have H2S Alive, First Aid, and WHMIS tickets, or be prepared to obtain these safety tickets at own cost shortly after starting work.
The following would be assets: UT Level 1 or 2. Magnetic Particle CGSB Level 2. CWB W178.2 level 1 or 2. Engineering education. Fall Restraint certificate. Valid PAL and ATV/UTV certificates.
As this is a field position, work will be mainly outdoors in all seasons. Candidate must be willing and able to work outside in all seasons (ie: hot summer, cold winter and everything in between). Although mainly outdoor, there are also some in/office days as well.
Must be physically fit. Job entails climbing, bending, lifting and carrying equipment, walking, sitting, standing, crawling, may be working from heights (while using fall restraint equipment).
Must have good computer skills - must be very confident in Excel skills

This is a full time position, generally starting work at 7am or 8am depending on work scheduling. The day usually ends at 5pm or when field work is done. Most work done Monday to Friday, but must be prepared to work weekends as needed.
We do offer benefits to employees that have been here 6 months – medical. Employees who are here at least 1 year -including gym, RRSP, RESP for children of employees.
