Job overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Operations Analyst to join our dynamic team. The Operations Analyst will play a crucial role in optimizing and streamlining our operational processes. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in financial operations, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency.
This role requires exceptional technology skills, and high attention to detail. Through a combination of time-management abilities, strong administrative background, and interest in the investment management industry you will collaborate with the client service and back-office investment management teams to ensure fast and accurate client administration, effective process execution, and to provide a seamless client onboarding experience that exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities

Trade execution and settlement

• Coordinate and execute trade orders while ensuring timely and accurate settlement of transactions
• Monitor and resolve trade discrepancies, working closely with trading counterparts and custodians

Performance reporting

• Generate and analyze performance reports for investment portfolios

• Collaborate with portfolio managers to ensure accurate and timely reporting to clients

Reconciliation and data integrity

• Conduct daily reconciliations of portfolio holdings, cash positions, and transactions

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies to maintain data integrity

Process improvement

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the operations workflow

• Implement solutions to enhance operational effectiveness

Compliance and risk management

• Understand the “Burkett Way” platform of investment products, services, and regulatory requirements

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to trade execution and operational processes
• Collaborate with the compliance team to address any operational risk concerns

Job requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
• Proven experience in financial operations
• Understanding of private client service and investment management practice
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with an ability to multi-task
• Proficient in using financial software and systems (Portfolio Management, Order Management, or related systems)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Advanced user of MS Office, primarily Excel
• You are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer
