Job overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Operations Analyst to join our dynamic team. The Operations Analyst will play a crucial role in optimizing and streamlining our operational processes. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in financial operations, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency.
This role requires exceptional technology skills, and high attention to detail. Through a combination of time-management abilities, strong administrative background, and interest in the investment management industry you will collaborate with the client service and back-office investment management teams to ensure fast and accurate client administration, effective process execution, and to provide a seamless client onboarding experience that exceeds expectations.
Responsibilities
Trade execution and settlement
- Coordinate and execute trade orders while ensuring timely and accurate settlement of transactions
- Monitor and resolve trade discrepancies, working closely with trading counterparts and custodians
Performance reporting
- Generate and analyze performance reports for investment portfolios
- Collaborate with portfolio managers to ensure accurate and timely reporting to clients
Reconciliation and data integrity
- Conduct daily reconciliations of portfolio holdings, cash positions, and transactions
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies to maintain data integrity
Process improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the operations workflow
- Implement solutions to enhance operational effectiveness
Compliance and risk management
- Understand the “Burkett Way” platform of investment products, services, and regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to trade execution and operational processes
- Collaborate with the compliance team to address any operational risk concerns
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
- Proven experience in financial operations
- Understanding of private client service and investment management practice
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with an ability to multi-task
- Proficient in using financial software and systems (Portfolio Management, Order Management, or related systems)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Advanced user of MS Office, primarily Excel
- You are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer
