Operations Manager

```Job Summary:```
We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic Operations Manager adept at coordinating, organizing and managing the event that will bring together up to 2500+ participants (athletes, coaches, managers, and officials) and 1,200+ volunteers. The successful candidate must be confident in their ability to help coordinate a dynamic, multi-day, multi-sport event, including special events; and, their ability to support the successful logistics and planning of the Salmon Arm 2024 55+ BC Games.

The Operations Manager will be required to set up and maintain a well functioning Games Office (or headquarters) and provide the necessary support to the Society’s Board of Directors and their 75+ Chairs, and varies community liaisons. Ultimately, the Operations Manager will implement the plans and tasks as laid out and communicated by the Board of Directors.

```Duties:```
· Hiring and supervising all Games staff

· Assisting volunteers in meeting critical deadlines

· Assisting/monitoring the functioning of various systems and processes

· Tracking tasks, timelines and logistics

· Maintain key planning documents and completion of reports

· Ongoing clear communication with all stakeholders

· Email and phone correspondence with external stakeholders, business owners and community partners

· Logistical and organizational support related to event planning and co-ordination

· Attend planning meetings and support planning leading up to event dates, as well as providing on-site support on event days

· Update event planning resources as required

· Maintain and build positive community relationships

· Organize and supporting inventory of the “warehouse” (i.e., stored equipment)

· Assist with registering volunteers

· Participate and prepare for post-event debriefs

· Support Society’s Board of Directors and Chair tasks

```Experience:```
· Office Administration Certificate/Diploma would be considered an asset

· Event Management Planning/Coordination Diploma, Training or Certification or relevant 5+ years experience

· Microsoft Suite Software, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word

· Google Suite of software including Google Calendar, Google Drive

· Canva or equivalent design products

· Written/Technical writing skills, including business email correspondence

· Organization and document management skills

· Experience with marketing and social media is an asset

• Evening shift
• Monday to Friday
• Morning shift
