Description
Based out of the La Corey office in the Bonnyville area, the Operations Technician, Mechanical will report to the Senior Operations Mechanical Technician. This diverse position conducts pipeline maintenance activities and operates assets to minimize asset downtime throughout the district.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Regular site inspections at various Stations and Pipeline Terminals including all MLV’s on the CLX, CLPL, and Polaris pipeline systems to ensure EH&S, asset reliability and general housekeeping is maintained to the highest standard.
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance daily as required.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Conduct monthly meter proving activities on CLX/CLPL/Polaris sites.
- Respond to PLM and emergency conditions within the district as required.
- Provide support to operations engineering and Project Development on assigned projects within the district.
- Routine operation and maintenance pigging support for CLX/CLPL/Polaris Pipelines.
- Troubleshooting support to Leak Detection and Measurement Groups
- Participate in the district on-call rotation as assigned.
- Product quality testing to ensure product meets pipeline specs including vapour pressure testing on all lines.
- Complete and file documents for assigned tasks within the MAXIMO system.
- Maintain a good working relationship with Customers, Contractors and producers.
Education, Skills & Experience
- 5+ years' experience related to Operations or a related trade
- Certified Journeyman Millwright/Industrial Mechanic or Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities with a broad knowledge of operations
- Excellent teamwork with strong communication skills
- Computer competency with knowledge in MS Office products
Schedule:
Full time, 40 hours per week, 4 x 10-hour shifts, Tuesday-Friday
As this position is identified as safety and security sensitive, employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of pre-employment medical, drug/alcohol, drivers abstract and criminal background check assessments with satisfactory results.
