Job description

The People People Inc. on behalf of our client Centura, is seeking a dedicated and organized Order Desk Representative to join their team. The ideal candidate for this position will play a critical role in ensuring efficient order processing, exceptional customer service and accurate record keeping. The Order Desk Representative is an integral part of Centura’s operations and must be able to thrive in an extremely fast-paced environment. Responsibilities also include maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of flooring product lines, including features, benefits, and specifications.

The Order Desk Representative must have a “Customer First” mindset and focus on building supportive and long-lasting relationships with our customers. The best suited candidate for this role will be dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and the skill to always sell the whole project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing a deep understanding and knowledge of Centura’s product lines and technical information.
  • Receiving and processing customer orders via phone, email or in-person and reviewing inventory records to determine product availability.
  • Answering a multi-line phone system, responding to emails and taking messages.
  • Entering customer orders, payment information, returns, etc. into Centura systems.
  • Properly completing documentation related to orders and verifying for accuracy, maintaining organized and up to date order records.
  • Collaborating with the sales and warehouse teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
  • Taking payments, operation of credit/debit machines.
  • Communicating with customers about prices, shipping dates, back orders and shipment delays.
  • Responding to customer inquiries and resolving customer issues in a timely manner and escalating to management when needed.
  • Support Sales team, Samples and Warehouse Departments as required.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by Management.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience working in an order processing role, or in a high-paced customer service role.
  • Ability to interact with customers, clients and suppliers tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times.
  • Exceptional telephone manners and ability to respond to a multi-line phone system.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with MS Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team oriented and willing to work with others to achieve Company goals.
  • High attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all tasks.
  • Able to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Occasional light physical exertion associated with typical office-based roles.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • Order Desk: 2 years (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • London, ON N6E 1R5 (required)

Work Location: In person
