at Fairview High School

Fairview High School is located in the town of Fairview, approximately 100 kms north of Grande Prairie. The school serves students in grades 7-12. Fairview High School supports a variety of programs including an active sports program, excellent CTS Program, partnerships with community organizations and energetic student council group

One Part-Time (0.20 f.t.e.) Educational Assistant is required commencing April 26, 2024 and continuing until June 27, 2024. The successful candidate will be providing general support in the classroom one day a week.

Qualifications:

Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent.

Experience and/or training working with students in a junior/senior high school setting.

Experience and/or training working with students with complex learning needs and/or who exhibit challenging behaviours.

Skills:

Ability to work with students of varied ages, skill levels, needs and abilities.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff.

Ability to manage and organize programming and keep records.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Conscientious, flexible and committed.

Requirements:

Provide an acceptable current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check .

This is a Union position under CUPE Employees, Local 4839 Peace River Support Staff.

Rate of Pay:

$ 20.16 to $ 25.29 per hour (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division).
