Spencerville Pharmasave is looking for a part-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team!
This position would offer approximately 15 hours of work per week.

Spencerville Pharmasave is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 5:30 pm and Saturday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. The pharmacy is closed on Sundays and holidays.
Pharmacy Assistant Responsibilities:
- Preparing prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist and to the standards of the pharmacy manager
(duties could include patient data entry, adjudicating insurance claims, accurately inputting prescription information in pharmacy software, counting/labeling/measuring/packaging medication, non-sterile compounding, inventory management, preparing blister packages).
- Assisting with front store operations
(duties could include cash-handling, inventory management, sending/receiving orders, operating the point-of-sale system, merchandising, assisting patients in product selection, promotion/scheduling of marketing programs/clinical services/other store initiatives).
- Store maintenance
(duties could include vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the dispensary, or additional cleaning as outlined in store / COVID-19 cleaning protocols).
- Customer service
(duties could include answering the phone, accurately handling patient / health care provider inquiries or referring to the pharmacist for intervention, assisting in product selection and ordering, delivery of prescriptions, and creating a warm and welcoming environment for all clients of Spencerville Pharmasave).
- Professional conduct
(adhering to privacy and confidentiality requirements, maintaining professional image, ensuring proficiency in all computer systems).
- Adhering to all rules and procedures established by the pharmacy manager and the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
Pharmacy Assistant Job Requirements:
- Skilled in verbal and written communication, comfortable interacting with people.
- Superior work ethic, eagerness to learn.
- Punctuality and attention to detail.
- Strong math skills.
- Proficient in computers (for example: data entry on point-of-sale system, Microsoft Office, Google Docs/Sheets).
- Adherence to confidentiality and privacy policies.
- Vulnerable Sector Check with the Police.
- Available to work on Wednesday, Friday and occasional Saturday mornings.
*Previous pharmacy experience and experience with Kroll Dispensary software are mandatory for this position.*
