"Woke Mommy Chatter (WMC) is a vibrant and dedicated community platform that celebrates and amplifies the voices of Black mothers. Our mission is to highlight the multifaceted experiences of Black motherhood, from the joys and triumphs to the challenges and adversities. Our platform, www.wokemommychatter.org, serves as a space for storytelling, support, and advocacy, focusing on critical issues such as food security, caregiving, and the invisibility of Black mothers in mainstream narratives.
WMC is deeply committed to reclaiming and utilizing the term ""woke"" in its original context—a call to awareness and action in the fight against racial injustice, particularly in the Black community. The genesis of ""woke"" lies in the rich tradition of Black activism and cultural discourse, signifying a state of being informed, aware, and actively engaged in issues of racial and social justice. We honor this heritage by embedding the principles of awareness, education, and action into everything we do."

"We are seeking a multifaceted Digital Content Creator and Strategist, with a role that encompasses Podcast Producer and Editor, Website Curator and Editor, and Social Media Content Creator and Strategist. This position is for a visionary, innovative individual who is passionate about creating content that resonates with our audience, managing our digital presence, and driving engagement across various platforms."
"Key Responsibilities:"
"● Develop and execute a comprehensive digital content strategy for WMC, in line
with our mission to highlight Black motherhood."
"● Produce, edit, and manage the Woke Mommy Chatter podcast, bringing new perspectives and stories to our audience.
● Curate and update the WMC website with engaging content and visuals, ensuring consistency with our brand voice.
● Create and manage compelling Social Media Content across platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
● Conduct and host interviews, collaborate with community members, and be onsite at WMC events for digital storytelling.
● Lead brainstorming sessions for creative content ideas, and produce a wide range of materials, including videos, podcasts, graphics, and more.
● Track and analyze content performance using analytics tools, adjusting strategies to maximize impact.
● Maintain a consistent brand voice and tone across all digital platforms."
"Qualifications:"
"● Demonstrated experience in digital storytelling, content creation, and Social Media
management.
● Proficiency in WordPress and a strong understanding of podcast production.
● Exceptional skills in photo and video creation, including editing.
● A deep understanding of and passion for Black motherhood and the issues facing Black mothers.
● Lived experience with anti-Black racism and a commitment to racial justice.
● Ability to work independently, think strategically, and deliver creative solutions.
● Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team."
