Parts Specialist
Handle parts requirements of customers through counter service.
Duties:
1. Maintain customer goodwill and be sure parts counter is attended at all times.
2. Assist in keeping parts area clean and self-selection area stocked and orderly.
Keep all work areas, desks, aisles, receiving areas clean and tidy.
3. Verify receiving shipments by checking order against packing list. Keep all
records, etc. up to date.
4. Follow up on shortages and expedite through reporting to the parts manager.
5. Supply service technicians with parts ordered through parts requisition forms.
6. Since many of the responsibilities of a parts counter clerk overlap the parts
manager, the parts person should work as close as possible to the parts manager to
establish harmony.
This individual must be able to communicate and generate customer goodwill through their ability to carry on conversations and be a good listener. They must also have knowledge of parts merchandising and associated selling. They must be willing to do everything possible to ensure the customer can keep working.
Previous parts experience preferred.
