About the Role
The Payroll Administrative Assistant supports payroll in their ongoing administrative activities and benefits administration. The Administrative Assistant must maintain absolute confidentiality of the department.
Who we are looking for
- Must have Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education in an administrative program OR minimum three (3) years
- Previous experience or exposure to payroll practices an asset.
Your Responsibilities
- Maintains confidentiality of appropriate information.
- Perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects Formet Expectations and Formet’s Visions/Values through Magna’s Employee Charter.
- Follow and abide by all government, Legal, Magna and Formet rules and regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.
- Performs all daily administrative activities supporting payroll including but not limited to filing, scanning, photocopying, answering phones. Administrative assistance with spreadsheets and calculations as required.
- Assist Team Members with questions and concerns
- Facilitate new hire orientation; provide guidance to new Team Members, and assist in the enrolment process of company benefits plans.
- Assist with projects and assignments as applicable in the payroll department
- Maintain Team Member benefit and personal information master file within Human Resource Information Systems.
- Support the administration of Team Member Group Benefits program including; medical and dental coverages and insurances such as Life, AD&D, Critical Illness and Long Term Disability plans.
- Support the administration of in-house paid Short Term Absence plan.
- Support the annual open enrollment process, conduct open enrollment meetings and coordinate the distribution and collection of documents as required.
- Perform internal and external system and data audits.
- Act as a support for the payroll team
- Perform other duties as designated.
