We are currently seeking a Payroll Coordinator for our solar project in Drumheller, AB. The successful candidate will maintain accurate records of employee work hours, ensure compliance with labor regulations, ITC requirements and supporting payroll processes.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Distribute and collect timesheets via BambooHR Timesheets or as hard copies, to ensure employee hours are properly submitted.
  • Work with sub contractors and employment agencies on site for timesheets and submit for bi-weekly reporting
  • Record and verify employee, subcontractor and workers hours are correct and coded correctly in the timesheet system.
  • Enter and update employee time and attendance information in BambooHR Timesheets system.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of timesheets and enter any additional information, such as an employee's vacation, time off, or sick leave.
  • Resolve discrepancies or issues related to hours, hours worked, hours recorded to projects.
  • Collect all employee, subcontractor and agency payroll statements and provide proof of payment for bi-weekly reporting.
  • Verify apprenticeship hours for bi-weekly reporting.
  • Stay informed about labor laws and regulations related to timesheet and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with the payroll to provide accurate and timely data for payroll time entry deadlines and processing times.
  • Generate regular reports on time and attendance data for management review.
  • Generate bi-weekly hours reports and submit to 3rd party for review.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on timesheets processes.
  • Responsible for reviewing all timesheets for manager approval on a bi-weekly basis
  • File, maintain, and organize project payroll reports.


We would like to review your application if you have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience direct payroll and time entry experience
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation considered and asset or working towards
  • Experience with time tracking software and systems, BambooHR is preferred
  • Knowledge of payroll practices and labor laws and regulations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Where you will be working, your work schedule, and other important information:
This position will be located in our field office, located near Drumheller, Alberta. The base hours of work are a regular 44 hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs.


Length of Contract -6 months
