North End Pharmacy Remedy’x Rx is located in a commercial plaza sharing a medical lab along with physiotherapy, massage and kinesiology services. We are a small independent pharmacy focused on providing patient-focused personalized care to a diverse demographic. Most of our patients are known by name as we serve patients with a broad range of healthcare needs. Working at this site requires a community-minded approach in serving patients, while always upholding a high standard of pharmacy professionalism.
Your role as a Pharmacy Assistant is that of a supportive team member assisting licensed pharmacists in providing medication and other health-related services to patients.
We are looking for a Pharmacy Assistant with the following skills/attributes:

Responsibilities and duties include:
Greeting patients and receiving prescriptions, following provincial legal/regulatory requirements and maintaining patient confidentiality
Perform computer functions as directed by pharmacist including data entry, price checks, patient information entry/update, refills and report generation
Setting realistic customer expectations as to wait times and effectively communicate the time to the customer
Manage customer inquiries both in person and over the phone
Manage incoming faxes by collaborating with patients and pharmacy personnel
Handling customer prescription pick up, and assisting with cashier responsibilities as required in the Pharmacy
Ensure customers requiring counseling on prescription products or over the counter items are referred to the pharmacist in a timely and appropriate manner
Schedule professional clinical services (i.e. medication reviews, minor ailment assessments, immunizations)
Counting, measuring and filling medication containers or compliance dose packages
Maintenance of inventory (putting away received stock, updating inventory counts, ensuring regular replenishment of pharmacy drugs and supplies, putting away stock bottles, removing expired products from the shelf, cleaning)
Receiving and processing incoming product/drug orders
Administrative duties such cycle counts, narcotic counts, return to stocks
Implementing and adhering to all applicable company standards
Assisting with other pharmacy operations as required
Comply with and ensure any applicable COVID-19 workplace safety protocols are followed
Education and Experience:
Pharmacy Assistant certificate from a recognized Canadian College
At least 6 months Pharmacy Assistant experience in a Canadian pharmacy setting.
Experience with Pharmacy Computer systems especially with KROLL software
Compliance Packaging experience
Schedule & Compensation:
Applicants should be available to work a flexible Monday to Friday schedule.
May be asked to work additional shifts for coverage if required
Wage rate based on training and relevant experience
