We seek a Plant Technician, reporting to the Vice President, Development. You will contribute to the company’s achieving its objectives and priorities, particularly when demonstrating and executing the validation of equipment useful in its product offerings. Operating equipment to show potential clients, investors, community groups, or others as determined. You will contribute to creating or updating standard operating and maintenance procedures.

This role is based out of the Hydrogen Optimized office at 1800 17th Street East, Owen Sound, Ontario.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Monitoring and operating various process equipment, utilizing multiple stages of automation
- Performing preventative maintenance tasks on Rugged Cell and system
- Instrument calibration
- Executing testing, data collection, and data filing plans on items in the Demonstration room
- Contributing to product quality and the company’s continuous quality improvement processes
- Complying with all health and safety guidelines
- Performing housekeeping duties within the work area
- Completing required paperwork with regard to production/quality
- Assisting with training of other team members.
- Completing general facility duties
- Contributing to company productivity by performing temporary assignments as required, given adequate safety and operational instructions
- Other tasks as required for facility operations
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Post-secondary degree in a related field (i.e., Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, etc.)
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- A strong capacity for acquiring and mastering new processes and procedures efficiently
- A solid commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work area at all times
- A deep understanding and compliance with responsibilities under the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations, and Hydrogen Optimized Safety and Integrated Quality Management Systems, policies, and procedures
- A high level of adaptability to changing circumstances and priorities
- A solid commitment to punctuality and consistent attendance at work
- The ability to accept feedback from operators and implement any changes needed
- The ability to utilize interments to collect data and perform process equipment maintenance tasks with relevant tool proficiency
- A strong desire to join a growth-oriented tech company and to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong hands-on skills, excellent organizational and multi-tasking capability
- Strong interpersonal communication skills & ability to establish strong internal relationships
