Position Overview:
The Quality Technician is responsible for maintaining quality standards by approving in-process production, finished products and recording quality results. Examine manufactured products to ensure the parts meet all standards of presentation and quality. Hourly checks visual F/M/L must be recorded on In-Process inspection sheet. Immediate reporting of all non-conforming parts or dimensions. Study product specifications and work instructions. Perform visual inspections, mechanical and functional verification of parts to ensure compliance to set specification and quality standards and record on In-Process Inspection Sheets. Collect and record accurate data regarding defects using rulers, gauges, micrometers and calipers. Ensure quality alerts issued by Corporate are filed appropriately and any rework or sorting documentation is signed. Communicate sort/inspection results to managers, supervisors by entering in log book for shift awareness
The hours for this position are based on company needs and can be subject to change at anytime to accommodate the needs of the company. The hours for this position may include some weekends (i.e., Saturdays) and holidays.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Examine manufactured products to ensure the parts meet all standards of presentation and quality.
- Hourly checks visual F/M/L must be recorded on In-Process inspection sheet
- Immediate reporting of all non-conforming parts or dimensions.
- Study product specifications and work instructions.
- Perform visual inspections, mechanical and functional verification of parts to ensure compliance to set specification and quality standards and record on In-Process Inspection Sheets
- Collect and record accurate data regarding defects using rulers, gauges, micrometers and calipers
- Ensure quality alerts issued by Corporate are filed appropriately and any rework or sorting documentation is signed
- Communicate sort/inspection results to managers, supervisors by entering in log book for shift awareness
- Provide feedback and recommend adjustments to production/assembly operations
- Ensure master parts are protected from damage or loss
- Report any damaged fixtures to Quality Manager
- Oversee inspection and provide feedback to the those accountable for the product
- Supports Precision Stamping Group Health and Safety Policies
Qualifications:
- · Previous quality experience within an automotive manufacturing facility
- · Experience in metal stamping preferable
- · Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- · Ability to coordinate, prioritize and multitask
- · Demonstrated flexibility within a fast-paced challenging environment
- · Ability to take initiative and recognize needs
- · Team player and promoter of “what can I do to help” attitude
Working Conditions:
- Environment includes an expansive warehouse, where the temperatures range from 45 degrees to 80+ degrees (except office areas).
- The background noise approaches 90 db and ear plugs are required
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Dirty working environment including oil and dirt from material and presses
- Steel toe boots and safety glasses must be worn on warehouse floor at all times
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
