Exciting news! Canthooks Restaurant is under new management! We are looking to hire a hard-working and enthusiastic prep cook year-round to assist with all food preparation activities. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and cook full-course meals, individual dishes, and foods for customers.
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Estimate food requirements and costs.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas.
- Assist with the training of staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
- Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
- Work with specialized cooking equipment (deep fryer, etc.).
- Clean kitchen and work areas, and wash dishes.
- Organize and manage buffets and banquets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma.
- Pursuing or a completed degree in culinary arts is an asset.
- A food handler’s license is an asset.
- Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Salary: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
