General Purpose
The Product Technician I is responsible for performing all lab quality control tests.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform moisture, ash, protein, farinograph, baking, pH, viscosity, brix, sodium, taste-testing, slick test, and sieve analysis. Full training provided.
· Generate CoA’s (Certificate of Analysis) as required.
· Makes ship/hold/ decisions based on QC testing results.
· Daily computer entry of all results.
· Performs finished product re-testing and customer complaint investigations.
· Assists with the review, drafting and updating of QC Procedural Manuals.
· Performs equipment calibrations, ingredient inspections & prepares samples for external testing.
· Maintain a clean, orderly Lab & adherence to the Master sanitation schedule.
· Is aware of critical control points as they relate to product liability.
· Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while performing job duties and tasks.
· Performs all other related duties, including training and product development as required.
· Responsible for compliance with Canada Labour Occupational Health and Safety requirements and company safety standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Grade 12, plus one post-secondary course in Chemistry.
· Aptitude for & experience with computer applications.
· Self-motivated team player with strong work ethic.
· Above average interpersonal & communication skills.
· Proven problem-solving skills with an ability to work in stressful situations while demonstrating positivity & professionalism when facing challenges.
· Willing and available for shift work. (holidays, weekends and call outs if needed)
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $22.20-$25.61 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
