The Production Supervisor will oversee a team of employees to properly achieve all production requirements in a safe and efficient manner. As the team leader, they not only need to have a solid understanding of daily operations, but also must have excellent communication and soft skills. The Supervisor will create a positive, supportive, engaging environment that is aligned with our corporate values and behaviors. The Supervisor is an ambassador for all safety programs, and they will lead by example.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Manage employee safety training.
- Ensure safety standards are met by all staff.
- Hold employees accountable to policies and procedures, apply corrective action for employees who do follow standards.
- Participate in and promote the Joint Health and Safety program.
- Conduct mill inspections daily to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- File and forward all WCB, corrective action, and first aid incident reports to the Safety Committee.
- Sign off on all regulatory forms required by Skretting and, local or federal authorities.
- Sign off on all employee attendance records and at the end of each pay period.
- Manage employee absences to meet the requirements set by Skretting.
- Complete online Performance Management tasks in Workday, including goal setting and reviews.
- Support employees with development/training activities in the plant and in workday.
- Plan and organize the roles of each member on shift.
- Relay any special shift instructions to other Supervisors.
- Resolve related issues utilizing available reports, trends and production logs.
- Refer to equipment operational information from HMI screens to identify the source and location.
- Assist and guide Maintenance.
- Report any quality issues directly to the Plant Manager, and QA.
- Enter appropriate information pertaining to the substandard feed in the yield report.
- Relay necessary actions to those required to facilitate the corrections needed to the
- production process property.
- Develop action plan to improve KPI’s.
- Follow cleaning plan.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Post secondary education in a related field or relevant industry experience.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Strong computer skills.
- Up to date First Aid Certificate. (Desirable).
- Flexible working hours (shift work required).
- Strong communication skills.
- Proven leadership ability.
- Capable of working in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks at once.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
