Position Summary:

Reporting to the Operations Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor’s role is to supervise personnel while effectively communicating and enforcing safety procedures. The Production Supervisor works to foster a cooperative and collaborative team environment while bridging an understanding of management direction to frontline workers.

Duties:

Safety and Quality Assurance:

• Collaborate with the Safety Advisor to ensure overall personnel safety.
• Promote a positive Food Safety Culture.
• Monitor the quality of saleable products, material usage, and maintain proper documentation.
• Conduct Safety Talks regularly and ensure staff is well-trained in job duties, safety & QA procedures, and companypolicy.
• Investigate abnormal events or equipment failures, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Ensure proper documentation of operational activities and report to the Department Manager.

Personnel and Operations Management:

• Plan, schedule, and monitor work performed by employees.
• Ensure staff is adequately trained and conducts annual performance reviews.
• Facilitate requisition of materials and supplies, prioritize items, and ensure proper returns.
• Verify completion of pre-op inspections and accurate completion of inventory processes.
• Prepare accurate production reports.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the overall safety of all personnel working
• Supervise, coordinate, and monitor people & plant activities to achieve quality & productivity standards
• Oversee and coordinate the operation of the plant on shift and enforce all company policies
• Communicate, support, and assist maintenance personnel in achieving timely and efficient maintenance
• Decision making authority to stop or start productions line based on Research and Development (R&D) standards ofproduct quality
• Create a collaborative, cross-functional work environment among all departments

Qualifications/Asset Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years experience in a Manufacturing environment
• Experience with a manufacturing execution system
• Experience in a fast-paced 24-hour operation
• Post-secondary education is an asset
