As a Project Controls Analyst, you will be responsible for providing timely analysis on project performance and support project management governance. You will use cost management, forecasting, budgeting, financial, and scheduling expertise in the evaluation, monitoring, and analysis of project performance. Primary duties include:
- Prepare project cost reports and analysis; provide recommendations to Project Managers and senior management.
- Create, analyze, and reconcile project cash flow against forecasts and schedules.
- Develop and maintain the project's work breakdown structure (WBS) and cost breakdown structure (CBS), and assist in the preparation and monitoring of project cost baselines to identify cost overruns.
- Assist in setting up new contracts and/or contract extensions by providing accurate and timely cost coding and process change request orders.
- Develop and implement Project Controls processes and practices.
- Support Project Managers in creating and maintaining project schedules.
- Support the goals and objectives of Business & Engineering Services and The City's project management practices, ensuring adherence to Project Controls processes and audit requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- A completed 2 year diploma and at least 3 years of Project Controls experience; ORa degree and at least 1 year of Project Controls experience.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Power BI and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- A project management certification such as a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Certification (PMP), or Certified Cost Professional (CCP) will be considered an asset.
- Preference will be given to applicants with experience in project management software (for example: Microsoft Project, Primavera, Ecosys or similar) and previous experience developing and implementing processes.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, organizational, analytical and customer service skills are essential.
- Demonstrated high attention to detail and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team.
