Overview of Position:

The Project Coordinator works under the guidance and direction of the Production Project Manager and is expected to be able to develop project-specific strategies based on parameters provided by Project Managers. The Project Coordinator is required to be an independent self-starter and will monitor the critical path of the projects that s/he is assigned and report when conflicts or other delays occur and perform quality control checks to ensure the projects meet Cobra standards. This position is 50% project coordination and 50% quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management and project schedule and support assisting with coordinating, drafting & issuing project proposals, RFP’s, budgets, preliminary schedules, presentations, and centralize documentation.
  • Respond to stakeholders, prepare project status reports, monitor issues and risks associated with targets and milestones, manage and mitigate risk.
  • Assisting with monitoring and managing the projects critical path, including the scheduling and completion of specific deliverables and assist the Project Managers.
  • Assisting the Production Project Manager with facilitating the adoption of project Policies and Procedures, management principles and best practices by acting as a reference point and technical assistant for staff.
  • Assists Project Managers with the scheduling of meetings, workshops, and other activities both internal and external.
  • Perform quality control checks on projects to ensure they meet company standards and customer requirements
  • Document and report any quality issues or non-conformities
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality-related problems
  • Conduct regular audits of production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and guidelines
  • Train and educate employees on quality control processes and best practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering CET or related field, and 1- 2 years’ experience as a Project Coordinator or similar position (Project Analyst, Project Administrator) or other qualifying related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience; Or experienced red seal tradesperson with business and computer knowledge.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or, at a minimum, Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
  • General knowledge of Project Management principles and methodology, especially those considered best practices under the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Experience with document management solutions like MS SharePoint
  • Post-undergraduate diplomas or certificates in Project Management are an asset.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Controller or similar role
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or deviations from specifications
  • Knowledge of quality control principles and practices
  • Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards and regulations

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to: gather, analyze, and organize data, define problems and requirements, and recommend solutions.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Dynamics and similar project management tools, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with solution development and delivery lifecycle
  • Strong problem solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.

Work conditions:

Percentage of time in office 20% and in yard 80%, ability to lift 50+ lbs, required safety equipment, hazards associated with the trade, work both indoors and outdoors, construction sites, noise, irregular hours.
