Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed British Columbia Land Surveyor to join our client’s team. As a BCLS, you will be responsible for conducting Land Surveying activities, ensuring accurate measurements and legal boundaries of properties and land parcels in accordance with provincial regulations and industry standards. The successful candidate will play a critical role in providing precise data for various purposes, including land development, infrastructure projects, and property transactions.
Project ManagerLand Survey Responsibilities:
- Conduct Land Surveys using advanced surveying equipment and techniques, including global positioning systems (GPS), total stations, and digital mapping tools.
- Determine and verify property boundaries, legal descriptions, and land ownership, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Prepare and review survey documents, including survey plans, legal surveys, subdivision plans, and other survey-related reports.
- Perform calculations, data analysis, and mapping using computer-aided design (CAD) software and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to generate accurate survey maps and related documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, developers, and other professionals to provide accurate survey information for land development projects, infrastructure design, and construction projects.
- Conduct field inspections to verify survey data, resolve discrepancies, and address any potential issues during the survey process.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest surveying techniques, technologies, and industry best practices, ensuring continuous professional development.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and project files to ensure traceability and legal compliance.
- Provide professional advice and guidance to clients, stakeholders, and team members on Land Surveying matters.
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines and regulations while working on survey sites and during field operations.
- Manage and supervise survey crews and technicians, providing mentorship, training, and guidance as required.
- Valid registration as a British Columbia Land Surveyor (BCLS) in good standing
- Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Engineering, Geomatics Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience working as a Land Surveyor, preferably in BC, with a strong understanding of local Land Surveying regulations, standards, and practices.
- Proficient in using surveying equipment, such as GPS, total stations, and digital mapping tools.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex survey data and drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and effectively communicate technical information to clients and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various survey sites and project locations as required.
