Form of workReporting to the Senior Engineer, the Project Engineer or Projects EIT is responsible for all aspects of project management delivering safe and environmentally responsible projects on time and on budget. The Project Engineer will manage project delivery from the pre-scoping and scoping stage through pre-feasibility, feasibility, and execution stages up to commissioning and project closeout. Close coordination with mine site personnel is essential to successful project delivery. This role has the potential for extended hours at times, especially during project execution and planned plant shutdown periods.

Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Develop, implement, and assure compliance with the Teck Coal Project Standards which include applicable codes and regulations
- Assure project processes including Stage Gate reviews, management of change, project charters, tendering, request for proposals, contracts and contractor supervision/management are effectively applied at a level applicable to the specific project
- Lead safe and environmentally responsible project delivery using the stage gate process
- Ensure projects are implemented to a high quality standard and meet their overall design intentions and are fit for purpose
- Define project scope, goals, and scheduled deliverables in coordination with senior management and identified stakeholders, along with identifying and managing project dependencies and critical path
- Aid in the planning, organizing, securing, and managing of resources for the effective and efficient completion of projects
- Provide insight to management on progress, strengths, critical issues, and areas of risk and exposure in the execution of the projects
- Coordinate and steward deliverables including permitting and engineering work products
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Minimum two years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of engineering, permitting, and construction; experience in the mining industry, or other heavy industrial sector an asset
- Eligible for, or working towards, registration with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia
- Familiarity and experience with the Microsoft Suite® as well as MS Project, AutoCAD, and other engineering & project management software

Salary Range: $101,000 - $125,000
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
