The Purchasing Manager will report to the Chief Financial Officer. The Purchasing Manager oversees purchasing activity for all companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Negotiate contracts to reduce product pricing and purchasing terms starting with high-cost items.
- Continuously evaluate regular consumables for more efficient and cost-effective alternatives.
- Maintain knowledge of market trends, prices, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly.
- Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
- Perform root-cause analysis for supplier commercial and delivery errors and make recommendations for changes to eliminate causes.
- Make recommendations for improving supply chain.
- Seamlessly work with operations and suppliers to ensure appropriate supply in a required timeline.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Possess a professional certification in either Materials or Purchasing
- Completion of a Community College Diploma or a University Degree in Supply Chain Management
- Minimum 7 years’ experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3 years of managerial experience
- Demonstrate a proficient command of Purchasing and MRP systems.
- Excellent problem-solving techniques and methods
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees both within the organization and with customers, suppliers, sub-contractors, engineers, etc.
- Strategic and analytical mind set towards purchasing.
- Possess substantial proficiency in SAP, and in particular S/4HANA, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
