This position reports directly to the Quality Manager and is responsible to ensure that finished products meet NWP’s Quality Control Standards as well as applicable codes, standards and customer specifications.
A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Welding Engineering Tech Diploma or B-Pressure ticket or equivalent 2 years’ experience in quality control area including structural skids, welded piping, pressure vessels & completed package fabrications.
- Level 1 CWB Welding Inspector, Level 2 an asset
- Working knowledge of Welding Procedure Specifications
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, ASME B31:3, Section VIII, CSA B51, W59
- Working knowledge of P&ID drawings, including reading, following, and creating documentation direct to the P&ID
- NDE procedures and requirements, including preparing NDE requests.
- Be a liaison with third party inspectors, including arranging inspections and testing.
- Creating hydro-test packages, including organizing all relevant documents
- Witnessing hydrotests; Verification of no leaks
- Walking down package for final inspections; Verification all PO requirements are met.
- Shop based position; Shop experience is a must.
- Be able to work in elevated areas and confined spaces.
- Must be comfortable working independently, making quick decisions and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Poses excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Have exceptional time management abilities.
Additional knowledge in the following is an asset:
- Paint and coating requirements.
- Proficient in the use of measuring equipment
- Weld / NDE mapping.
- Tubing & instrumentation
- MTR review
