Qc Inspector - Shop

This position reports directly to the Quality Manager and is responsible to ensure that finished products meet NWP’s Quality Control Standards as well as applicable codes, standards and customer specifications.

A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Welding Engineering Tech Diploma or B-Pressure ticket or equivalent 2 years’ experience in quality control area including structural skids, welded piping, pressure vessels & completed package fabrications.
• Level 1 CWB Welding Inspector, Level 2 an asset
• Working knowledge of Welding Procedure Specifications
• Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, ASME B31:3, Section VIII, CSA B51, W59
• Working knowledge of P&ID drawings, including reading, following, and creating documentation direct to the P&ID
• NDE procedures and requirements, including preparing NDE requests.
• Be a liaison with third party inspectors, including arranging inspections and testing.
• Creating hydro-test packages, including organizing all relevant documents
• Witnessing hydrotests; Verification of no leaks
• Walking down package for final inspections; Verification all PO requirements are met.
• Shop based position; Shop experience is a must.
• Be able to work in elevated areas and confined spaces.
• Must be comfortable working independently, making quick decisions and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Poses excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Have exceptional time management abilities.

Additional knowledge in the following is an asset:

• Paint and coating requirements.
• Proficient in the use of measuring equipment
• Weld / NDE mapping.
• Tubing & instrumentation
• MTR review
