Quality Control - Food Label Technician

United Bakery Manufacturers Inc. is a frozen bakery food manufacturing company with the main facility located at 130 Fernstaff Crt. in Concord, Ontario.

The company’s business activity is manufacturing of frozen bakery products for distribution to various customers in retail, food distribution, food service and restaurant industries in Canada and United States of America.

Our products include variety of bakery products such as croissants, Danishes, pastries, fruit sticks, breads, scones, cookies, puff pastry and Danish dough slabs, strudels, turnovers, sausage rolls, pizza rolls, cinnamon rolls etc.

This position is responsible for Printing Food Labels using specialized label management software (LabelView) and heavy duty label printers (SATO) for creating & verifying Food Labels for food manufacturing.

The technician will have to very accurately enter relevant data into the labelling software, configure and check all label data, print labels and maintain printing equipment.

Below are the main responsibilities:

• Check / verify ingredients specifications
• Create / Edit / Produce Product Labels for Production
• Check Critical Control Points
• Support of food safety & quality assurance program

Below are the main requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in nutrition, food science, quality assurance and control or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 1 years work experience in a similar production environment
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to multitask
• Impeccable attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Ability to work efficiently in a team and under pressure

Physical requirements:

• Be able to work productively in an 8-9 hour shift
• Exposure to various temperatures
