Quality Manager

The Manager Quality Improvement, as a member of the Cooley Management Team, is responsible to create success by the effective management of the day-to-day operations, activities involved in the quality improvement functions and customer service support through product quality issue resolution. The incumbent is the Quality Management Representative leading the company’s efforts in terms of ISO certification and compliance. Assists in achieving departmental and organizational goals, remaining current with industry trends in the above applicable fields of purview and operating within annual budget forecast.

Skills and Qualifications

• Participates in and reinforces the need for interdepartmental communication to ensure all departments are working towards achieving Cooley’s purpose, values, and annual business goals.
• Supports operational efforts by establishing/maintaining an ISO-based Quality Management System consisting of those components and databases which facilitate improved performance and sustained marketplace reputation.
• Actively supports quality improvement initiatives focusing team resources in areas that improve product quality, yield, and remove scrap and waste.
• Participates, as requested, in the formation of business strategies and the preparation of forecasts/budgets of the company.
• Supports company philosophy of continuous improvement by proactively utilizing the Cooley Tool Belt to reduce all forms of waste, continuous learning and to challenge the status quo.
• Demonstrates ability to prioritize activities and make sound and logical decisions to capture emerging opportunities and/or to resolve issues, to achieve our Core Purpose.
• Responds proactively to market opportunities and other identified priorities and projects.
• Able to react to change productively and participate in other projects or essential tasks as required or assigned.
• Proven record of accomplishment in successfully applying quality improvement tools. Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma
• Minimum of five years’ related experience
• Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office and department-specific software such as ERP
• Demonstrated resilience to ongoing change.
• Excellent written and oral communication, and time management skills
• Attention to detail.
