North & Company LLP is looking for a Legal Assistant to join our Pincher Creek team. This is a full-time (35 hours per week) position.
This role requires a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail, and client service. The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of legal assistant experience and the ability to provide support to our attorneys and contribute to the efficient operation of our firm. Job Duties
- Willingness to learn with an interest in learning Law 1+ year of office experience an asset
- Superior organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to multi-task and to meet deadlines under pressure
- Assist lawyers in the preparation and filing of legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and compile relevant information.
- Manage and organize case files and documentation.
- Schedule appointments, and meetings for lawyers.
- Draft and proofread legal correspondence and documents.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Perform general administrative tasks to support the legal team.
Qualifications
- Legal Administrative Assistant and/or Paralegal Diploma would be an asset;
- 2 years legal assistant experience would be an asset;
- Ability to handle a varied workload;
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
- Previous experience working with ProLaw, and Lawyer Done Deal software system would be an asset;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Able to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with other staff and professionals.
