Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with specialized expertise in IV therapy to join our new clinic. As an integral member of our clinic, the ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, administer IV therapies, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of medical treatment and patient comfort.
Responsibilities:
- Administer a wide range of IV therapies including but not limited to hydration, antibiotics etc.
- Assess patients' health status, medical histories, and current medications to ensure safe and appropriate IV therapy administration.
- Monitor patients during IV therapy sessions, observing for adverse reactions and promptly addressing any complications or concerns.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of IV therapy procedures, patient progress, and medication administration according to clinic protocols and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans involving IV therapy.
- Educate patients about IV therapy procedures, potential side effects, and post-therapy care instructions.
- Ensure compliance with infection control practices, sterile techniques, and safety protocols related to IV therapy administration.
- Participate in ongoing training, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance nursing skills and stay updated on the latest advancements in IV therapy.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ontario.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certification in Intravenous (IV) Therapy or Vascular Access is highly desirable.
- Minimum [5 years] of clinical nursing experience with a strong background in IV therapy.
- Proficiency in venipuncture, IV insertion, and catheter maintenance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in managing complex patient care scenarios.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards, patient confidentiality, and providing compassionate care.
