JOB DESCRIPTION
As the RSPA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our residents and the effectiveness of our staff. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing Resident Support and protection Aid (RSPA) Staff
- Liaison with Regional Managers on issues pertaining to the home and RSPA staff
- Ensuring that Lion Guard Corporation’s policies and procedures are adhered to
- Implementing Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) techniques
- Monitoring RSPA staff attendance and focus during shifts
- Facilitating meaningful interactions between RSPA staff and residents
- Coordinating RSPA staff breaks and communication with the charge nurse
- Overseeing accurate and legible documentation of BSO DOS and other required charting
- Establishing a positive relationship with nursing staff, addressing their needs, and taking corrective action
- Training and development of RSPA Staff
- Implementing the Corrective Disciplinary Process
- Maintaining neat and organized resident binders
- Completing and submitting daily site reports to the regional manager
- Fostering a polite and respectful atmosphere among RSPA
- Promoting teamwork and accountability among RSPAs
- Upholding professionalism and excellence throughout the home
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
License: Security Guard License
Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check.
Immunizations Up-to-date immunizations including min 3 doses for COVID-19
Compassion and Empathy: A genuine desire to help and care for elderly residents, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ethical Behavior: Adherence to professional and ethical standards in caregiving, including respecting residents' rights
and privacy.
Leadership: Strong communication and leadership skills and knowledge of resident care protocols and regulations
Skills: The ability to accurately document care activities while remaining detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
Teamwork: Collaboration skills to work effectively with RSPA Staff, nurses, PSWs, and other healthcare professionals.
Adaptability: The capacity to adapt to changing situations and schedules in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Cultural Sensitivity: The ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment while providing culturally sensitive care to residents from diverse backgrounds.
Resident-Centered Care: A focus on providing person-centered care, which involves tailoring care to meet each resident's unique needs and preferences with a high level of professionalism and dedication to resident well-being.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.
Experience: Previous supervisory experience in a healthcare or residential care setting is preferred.
