Position Title: Retail Assistant, SHOP. at Spruce Meadows

Position: SEASONAL, Part Time
Expected Placement: Immediately
Wage: $20/hour

Responsibilities (included, but not limited to):

• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout various situations.
• Assistance in other departments may be required during term of employment.
• Tasks include: Serving and advising customers in store and online, answering customer queries, stacking shelves and replenishing stock, unloading deliveries.
• Ensuring the Spruce Meadows standard is maintained in respect to all aspects of the company operations. This includes but is not limited to customer service, supplies, equipment, building conditions, overall cleanliness.
• Responsible for ensuring all areas of concern are recorded and reported to the respective supervisors or appointed positions at the time of incident is crucial.
• Ensure Spruce Meadows accounting procedures are followed when executing all accounting processes.
• Responsible for executing professional and effective communication during all Spruce Meadows communication processes.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Full availability during contract dates
• High school diploma
• Retail experience considered an asset
• Knowledge of equestrian equipment considered an asset
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• To be thorough and pay attention to detail
• Persuading and negotiating skills
• Ability to take direction and use initiative as required
• Physically fit to lift/move deliveries to complete tasks
• Experience in Shopify considered an asset
• Reliable transportation to and from work and a valid Class 5 driver’s license (there is no public transit available to Spruce Meadows)
• Driver’s abstract
• Available to work weekends, evenings, late nights, early mornings
• Comfortable with working outdoors in all weather conditions including (but not limited to): hot, cold, wet and dry as well as dusty and noisy areas if required
• Organizational proficiency
• Ability to multi-task and meet short deadlines
• Strong time management skills
• Communication in basic English (oral)
• Strong team approach and willingness to assist others
• Ability to problem solve and exhibit conflict resolution skills
• Current certificate in Standard First Aid & CPR Level C (Asset)
• Ability to speak a second language fluently (Asset)

Work is conducted in a fast-paced work environment. Successful applicants must be willing to work in a variety of different settings and must work well in both team and individual scenarios. The Spruce Meadows venue operates in all weather conditions, from early mornings into late nights and on weekends.
