Job description

What will be your daily pursuit?:
Coordination of all activities relating to affiliate sales and events at Golden Skybridge.

This seasonal job is posted as part of our recruitment for summer 2024, with start dates March 15 to October 31st

Compensation:
This role will pay an hourly rate of $20 per hour
What perks can you expect?:
  • The Sales & Event Coordinator plays an important role in the Pursuit Sales Team and supports the overall day-to-day sales activities with our affiliate partners at Golden Skybridge. This person will be responsible for coordinating and executing internal and external group events and programs and lead the overall day-to-day sales activities with our affiliate partners in the region. . The primary focus is to ensure partners understand all the Pursuit products they will sell to their guests and to ensure the best possible guest experience for both our partners and guests.

  • To be successful in this position you must have the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively. You must have a passion for building relationships, and striving to have fun while doing that will be the most important aspect of this position!

  • This position is ideal for someone looking to do many positions during the summer and is able to quickly multitask. As you will be required to support many departments at Golden Skybridge, we are looking for a candidate who is able to communicate effectively. The success of this position resides in the desire to act as a pivot person for many services at Golden Skybridge.   • This role provides a great opportunity for someone who is looking to have some fun meeting people, share stories about the incredible experiences we offer throughout the Canadian Rockies, and is interested in expanding or utilizing their sales skills this summer.

  • This is a seasonal position, with a preferred start date of March 15th through to October 31st, 2024 with a possibility to extend based on the needs of the business.
What will you do in this job?:
  • Build & maintain strong industry relationships with our partners within the territory - Golden, Invermere, Radium Hot Springs & Revelstoke, including Golden Skybridge Leadership Team the Pursuit Sales Team - approximately 50% of their time out of the office visiting partners
  • Conduct sales calls, familiarization (FAM) tours, site inspections, and product training sessions with partners, weekly and as required
  • Liaise closely with the Affiliate Sales Manager to ensure strategy and targets are aligned across Banff Jasper Collection
  • Participate in idea generation for sales activities and ways to increase sales and improve processes in order to exceed sales targets and provide exceptional service to our partners.
  • Plan, organize, attend and bring to completion all team member internal events.
  • Support the Golden Skybridge Coordinator with staff orientation program.
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of Group Event Management (GEM) programs and special events including set up, flow of event and tear down
  • Promote Pursuit products during affiliate visits and selected regional events (i.e.: affiliate appreciation events, Open House Days, Canada Day, Pursuit local’s days, affiliates FAM)
  • Collect, track and input data on various measurables (statistics and reporting)
  • Execute all work in a safe, professional manner in compliance with H&S and our Always Honest Policy
  • Actively participate in committees (Green Team, Promise to Place, Health & Safety Committee, Fun Committee)
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:

  • A driver’s license and own vehicle is required for this role
    , which must be converted to a BC Class 5 driving license with interest in upgrading to a BC Class 4 License. Expenses will be reimbursed based on KM travelled.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, quick learner who sells their passion for Pursuit and its products.
  • Excellent hospitality mindset and guest service skills, including dedicated service to both internal and external clients.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to see multiple projects and tasks through to completion on a timely basis.
  • Self-starter that has the confidence and ability to work independently and can think proactively.
  • Confident public speaker to various groups sizes.
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends is required.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with strong administration and organization skills.
  • Drive to foster a strong team, build a healthy company culture, and creating positive experiences for employees and guests alike.
  • Physical working environment with walking and stair climbing and standing required.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Delphi.fdc (CRM) (an asset).
  • Knowledge of the tourism industry and local knowledge of the area - Bow Valley, Columbia Valley Golden & Jasper (an asset).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools essential (eg.: Excel, Outlook, PPT, Word, Teams).
  • Takes initiative and be persistent in overcoming obstacles, all while exercising excellent judgement.
  • Demonstrate high levels of positive energy and a willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities and assignments - strives to go beyond what is expected.
