Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for a Senior Analyst, Financial Accounting to join the team. This position reports to the Manager, Financial Accounting in the Conventional Pipelines Business Unit (“CBU”), part of Pembina’s Pipelines Division.
Pembina's Conventional pipeline assets comprise a strategically located network of pipelines and related infrastructure including various hubs and terminals. This network transports crude oil, condensate and NGL across much of Alberta and parts of British Columbia.
The Senior Analyst must be able to work independently and collaborate with various groups across the organization, contributing to the overall governance of CBU by actively promoting adherence to established standards and procedures.
 
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
-Prepare financial analysis and narrative write-up for monthly Scorecard and Highlights reporting to Senior leadership, connecting financial performance to underlying business drivers;
-Monitor and perform financial analysis and trending related to business unit KPI metrics;
-Coordinate inputs and prepare quarterly reports for CBU to support corporate disclosure preparation;
-Prepare analysis and respond to queries on CBU financial or operational results;
-Support determination of accounting for non-standard transactions or unique contractual changes resulting from new business activity or new IFRS implications;
-Lead monthly meetings to review actual and forecast variances;
-Develop and maintain solid relationships with CBU leadership team, other CBU Controller teams and other BU finance teams to ensure financial information flows to and from CBU in a coordinated manner;
-Subject matter expert of SAP business planning tools for CBU;
-Monitor and coordinate budgeting and forecasting for CBU G&A costs;
-Assist in the preparation of financial information required on Pembina’s regulated pipelines;
-Participate in ad hoc Corporate or Business unit projects as assigned;
-Mentoring other CBU accounting staff with problem solving as required; and 
-Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
 
Qualifications:
-Designated accountant with 8+ years post designation experience;
-Good writing skills with an ability to take multiple inputs and concisely prepare reporting for Senior management;
-Accounting analysis and reporting experience in the Oil & Gas industry and specifically within the midstream industry with complex revenue accounting is an asset;
-General understanding of consolidation of multiple entities and segment reporting; 
-Self-motivated, independent, team player with a strong work ethic and initiative is essential for success in this hands-on role;
-Excellent analytical and organizational skills with ability to set priorities, and
-Previous experience with SAP and Analysis tools or a similar large ERP.
