Senior Finance Manager, Canada Enterprise Customer Segments

The Senior Finance Manager, Canada Enterprise Customer Segments is the finance partner to the Canada Enterprise leaders, Sales Excellence Teams and the Finance Leads at the Area, Region and Corporate levels and other aligned business leaders. In this role, you will develop a deep understanding and appreciation for our large customers in order to deliver actionable insights to business partners to help grow our business. This popsition will partner with our Enterprise Commercial and Public Sector leaders to build and execute against our strategy. To support the focus on strategic thought leadership, there will be local resources closely aligned to this role, i.e. the Finance Manager, Canada segments, and a university graduate within the Microsoft Finance Rotation Program.

This position analyzes historical trends and existing pipeline from customers and partners to build targets, project future performance and provide action-oriented business insights to sales and finance teams. The successful candidate will be a finance professional with a passion for business partnering; enjoys making data-driven recommendations and expressing a point of view. Given the proximity to the customer, the role offers opportunities to collaborate with the sales teams on external customer -related projects and on internal sales business reviews. Under our One Microsoft model, partnership extends to Americas Finance peers across Cananda, Latin America (LATAM) and the United States and to the worldwide community of enterprise segment Finance Managers.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field
  • OR equivalent experience.

Financial Analysis IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $118,800 - CAD $214,800 per year.

Prioritize

• Performs and reviews analysis of present and future financial performance, financial plans (e.g., expected returns, resource allocation, pricing, investment opportunities), and economic transactions (e.g., customer deals, commercial partnerships, acquisitions). Prepares and summarizes recommendations.
• Works directly with business partners to translate top-down targets to an accountable budget for each group. Completes and reviews analysis, modeling, and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. Partners and solicits insight from business and commercial stakeholders
• Delivers results through tracking performance, reporting accuracy, and partnering with business leaders to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results. Manages the rhythm of the business for area of responsibility including monthly close, recurring business review preparation, and budgeting. Generates relevant and actionable insights to drive the business forward.
• Develops and leverages relationships with customers and partners to bolster sales, and to understand and manage business risk. Collects customer feedback data and applies data analysis techniques to improve customer experience. Builds relationships with customers at all levels. Designs and negotiates solutions to complex financial issues with customers. Engages with customers and partners on their wider relationships with Microsoft. Serves as an advocate for Microsoft and its customers. Understands customers' businesses to plan growth. Manages balance between customer centricity, enablement of sales, and cost-effectiveness.

• Shares business insights and advances solutions and action plans to drive business and commercial leader goals and short-term accountabilities. Provides credible insights into industry benchmarks and consumer trends, performance improvements, and growth. Facilitates to resolve complex issues. Manages and executes processes through engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
• Applies understanding of the broader Microsoft context to offer solutions to ensure organizational objectives are met. Develops and manages strategies to proactively mitigate, or reactively address, potential adverse effects of macroeconomic and/or geopolitical risks. Articulates a comprehensive view of financial results and approaches leaders can implement based on a deep understanding of business partner and counterpart work context and situation. Considers competing views and alternative solutions when formulating recommendations for financial plans and forecasts.
• Conceptualizes and designs new approaches to how financial data is collected and evaluated to impact future outcomes and decisions. Drives improvements in data management through automation. Applies understanding of advanced technology to accomplish business goals and to provide greater depth of analysis.
• Understands the interconnections between data, information, and results and translates this into forward-looking narratives and forecasts. Provides clarity and alignment with leaders. Implements creative ways to show patterns and draw conclusions to help drive decisions and clearly communicate findings. Generates actionable plans based on complex results, ambiguous findings, and multi-year time horizons. Articulates understanding and awareness of business partner situations.
