Shift Leader is responsible and accountable for the Front of House operations including training, inventory, scheduling and supervision of all Front of House operations.
Combine Cafe & Bars’ Shift Leaders will be experts in our menu, how best to pair our diverse, well-curated mix of delicious food and beverage offerings all while ensuring a flawless execution of service.
As a part of Combine Cafe & Bar the Shift Leader will contribute to the positive and enthusiastic team environment who work together as a cohesive team with a focus of excellence in all that we do.Key Accountabilities• Ensure that excellent levels of service are being delivered to the guests during service.• Ensure that all equipment used is in safe working order, checked regularly and any faults are reported to management, while ensuring equipment is not used until safe.• Action guest concerns and compliments by praising staff and resolving complaints in a timely manner.• Comply with all Combine’s policies and procedures and rules and regulations.• Shift management in support of the management team.• Running food and performing table-side service during busy periods to support your serving team.• Assist the Restaurant Manager, Cafe Manager or Assistant Manager with all aspects of restaurant operations.• Other duties as required.• Ensures adherence to food safety regulations, hygiene and cleanliness as per Provincial and local standards.• Performs monthly inventory in a timely manner with price extensions.• Accountable and responsible for labor forecasting and scheduling based on business levels.• Ensures FOH labor cost is on the line to the budget.• Ensure that proper closing procedures are followed.• Ensures that fire plan knowledge and WHMIS training is kept up to date.• Complies with WCB rules and regulations and maintains awareness of any/all other relevant laws and statutes.• Performs other duties as assigned and directed by Restaurant Manager/Cafe Manager.Education and Experience• High school diploma• Minimum five years supervisory experience in a full service restaurant and bar.• Eligible to work in CanadaSkills and Abilities• Superior communication skills including the ability to retain, coach, mentor and develop staff• Ability to work with others in a fast paced customer service oriented environment• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi - task and coordinate multiple functions and activities.• Ability to effectively use business software.• Must be able to lift 50 pounds• Must be able to work evenings and weekends as business dictatesCombine Cafe & Bar will open its doors early Spring 2024!
