Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

Job Description

Objective

To help Canplex Profiles Inc. fulfill its mission by managing the Shipping and Receiving process as well as maintain the warehouse and its contents.

Responsible to: Plant Manager

Responsible for: Overseeing and directing all warehouse associates, Material handlers and the complete process for Shipping and Receiving of products to and from Canplex Profiles as well as maintain the warehouse and its contents.

Expected Results

1. Oversee and manage the shipping process of customer finished goods or other deliveries leaving Canplex Profiles, on time according to customer requirements and Canplex standards.

2. Warehouse will be kept in a neat and orderly fashion.

3. Manage materials and goods being received. Ensure deliveries being received are as per ordered, put them in their place and/or notify the necessary parties that will be responsible for them.

General Responsibilities

1. Shipping & Receiving

a. Continuously monitor Open Order reports to determine shipping activity

b. Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.

c. Proficient in online ordering of trucks and couriers

d. Make each transportation arrangement by coordinating the best shipping conditions for the company.

e. Able to complete all customs documentation including CERS

f. Able to communicate with customs brokers as needed

g. Obtain quotes as requested from suitable Trucking / Courier Company’s

h. Closely communicate with Customer Service, Sales reps and Purchasing for current customer demands

i. Monitor emails regularly for shipping activity changes

j. Use the ERP system to create all shipping paperwork – pick tickets / open order reports etc.

k. Check that each skid and each product on skid is correctly packaged and labeled and counts are correct

l. Accurately prepare all required shipping paperwork packing slips / customs documents / skid placards etc.

m. Prepare all products for shipping by ensuring that each skid is stacked, stretch-wrapped / strapped and loaded into the truck for safe transportation in accordance with the company’s and customer requirements.

n. Verify incoming paperwork, unload, inspect products and verify counts

o. Label and put all received items into their designated locations promptly.

p. Complete and sign paperwork for purchaser to receive in system

q. Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.

r. Flexible working hours – Able to stay late or come in early to load, unload or prepare loads

s. Carry out other duties as assigned by plant manager

2. Warehouse Inventory

a. Maintain storage locations for all stock finished goods in orderly condition.

b. Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready areas and free of obstructions

c. Consolidate like products, optimizing storage capacity

d. Provide assistance to purchaser in the maintenance of RM storage

e. Participate in cycle counts and year inventory is required

f. Use the ERP system to maintain and facilitate the sub-contracting of parts procedure, collect and match PO’s for receiving and maintain records

g. Store finished assembled products ready for shipping.

h. Carry out other duties as assigned by plant manager

3. Other

a. To continually focus on customer service excellence.

b. Cast Vision within the organization and lead culture by example.

c. Regular attendance at monthly crew and safety meetings.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience

a. Must have post-secondary in logistics or 5 years’ working experience in warehousing and shipping/receiving

b. WHIMS

c. Operates fork lift or pump truck to accomplish shipping/receiving duties (Valid license required)

d. First Aid Certificate

e. Able to meet posting requirements.

f. Familiarity with computers, MS Office and ERP applications.

g. Familiarity with measuring devices i.e.: Measuring Tapes

h. Shipping/receiving and quality control experience in a manufacturing environment

i. Previous management experience would be an asset

2. Other Qualifications

• Training in Canplex Profiles’ Processes training
• Upgrade courses as required.
• Stay up to date and familiar with customs and shipping requirements and regulations.

Work hours: A typical week ranges from 40-50 hours, depending on delivery schedule.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
