Job Description
- The Site Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations at a designated Tilbury Tots location which will include all on site administrative duties.
- The Site supervisor will maintain a safe and welcoming environment for both the children and staff onsite.
- The Site supervisor will be responsible for working effectively with staff, community partners, families and children.
- The Site supervisor will promote all Tilbury Tots Early Learning Centre philosophies.
- The Site supervisor will be knowledgeable about the childcare and Early Years Act and all Company policies and procedures.
- The Site Supervisor will oversee all site programming and implementation and will ensure that all programming is developmentally age appropriate.
- The Site Supervisor will ensure compliance with all Ministry of Education guidelines and will be available during Ministry inspections.
- The Site Supervisor will provide guidance and support to all staff on site by implementing best practices and encouraging ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Registered Early Childhood Educator with two years experience
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- In good standing with the College of Early Childhood Education
- Up to date Immunization Records
- Proof of a Clear TB Skin Test
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and initiative.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively interact and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
- Must be sensitive to individual children’s differences and needs, and be willing to adjust the program curriculum to meet those individual needs.
- Must be motivated to learn and grow in an educational environment and be willing to continually increase knowledge in the field as an RECE.
- Must be able to work in a team environment, be willing to share ideas, be open to other’s ideas, and be flexible to compromise.
- A French-speaking background is an asset.
- Regular to frequent requirements: able to lift children up to 45 lbs including bending, stooping, stretching, squatting, pushing and pulling, sitting and walking.
- Noise level can be moderate to loud.
- Be an expert on Company policies and procedures manual and adhere to all licensing requirements.
- Complete annual staff performance reviews.
- Greet each child and staff in a warm and friendly manner.
- Knowledgeable about each child’s medical and developmental histories.
- Interacts with the children and encourages their involvement in activities.
- Provides a warm, safe and caring environment that is kept orderly, clean, disinfected and appealing which allows the child to grow and explore.
- Responsible for the health, welfare and safety of the children.
- To provide and arrange for first aid in case of emergencies.
- Maintains daily attendance records.
- Provide excellent communication with parents on a daily basis.
- Supervises, trains and utilizes ECE’s Assistant teachers, students and volunteers skills and abilities.
- Works with other staff members to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere.
- Ensures a high level of confidentiality of all privileged information.
- Must work the days and hours to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks, be punctual and timely in meeting all performance requirements, including but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines.
- To be responsible for scheduling staff.
- Provide support and direction to caregivers regarding child development.
- Assist with interviewing and hiring new staff.
- Familiar with site emergency procedures and conduct monthly drills.
- Instill confidence, and encourage creativity within your staff.
- Attends staff and/or board meetings.
- Attends all team planning meetings and curriculum meetings.
- Responsible for holding or initiating parent conferences as required.
- Attend workshops, conferences and any in-service training (online training/podcast).
- Write a monthly newsletter in detail for parents, if applicable.
- Maintains cleanliness in the staff room.
