Job Description :

Reporting to the Security Operations Centre (SOC) Manager, the SOC Admin will be responsible for leading the implementation, managing, and monitoring Cogeco's CASB and web proxy tools. The individual will primarily lead and leverage SOC tools, including cloud security solutions, to protect and promote secure practices across Cogeco. The SOC Admin will have the opportunity to work alongside a team of security experts and IT teams in all  business units to mitigate security risks and protect our company assets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with stakeholders to analyze network security needs and design tailored Zscaler solutions.

  • Spearhead the implementation, fine-tuning, and maintenance of Zscaler's cloud-based security services for optimal cyber threat defense.

  • Assess and lead the enhancements of existing network security architecture in line with Zscaler's best practices.

  • Collaborate with security and IT teams for seamless integration of Zscaler solutions into existing infrastructure.

  • Develop and manage policies related to secure internet usage, data loss prevention, and threat mitigation within Zscaler.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot Zscaler-related issues.

  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure Zscaler solutions integrate well with other security systems.

  • Maintain a technology watch on Zscaler features, releases, and industry best practices.

  • Develop content knowledge transfer and guide IT staff and security peers on effective Zscaler usage and practices.

  • Establish and Lead enterprise clients with the deployment of Zscaler products, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of testing steps and best practices.

  • Offer professional services in deployment design, recommendations, and configuration setups.

  • Lead the configuration of zscaler deployments to manage SaaS applications, including testing and troubleshooting.

  • Replicate and document issues for further analysis by support and engineering teams, both within Cogeco and also Zscaler help desk.

  • Develop a deep understanding of Zscaler cloud services through learning and training.
     

ACADEMIC TRAINING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; substantial experience may substitute.


 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in Zscaler implementation, administration, or similar roles.

  • Network Security experience / Firewall background.

  • Experience working in large organizations.

SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

  • Understand network security concepts, protocols, and technologies.

  • Understand information security practices and policies.

  • Hands-on experience with VPN, SSL inspection, and secure web gateways.

  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, IT Security, PKI, SSL/TLS.

  • Experience with network troubleshooting tools like Ping, Traceroute, MTR, tcpdump, Wireshark.

  • Knowledge of authentication systems (e.g., MS AD, SAML) and cloud platforms (Google Workspace, Azure, AWS) are a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Proficient in information security principles, and industry standards such as NIST.

  • Experience using tools to correlate unstructured data from various types of journals and event flows.

  • Certifications in relevant areas are a plus (e.g. Zscaler Certified Engineer (ZCE) or Zscaler Certified Administrator (ZCA).

  • CISSP, CCNA and/or other industry-standard security certifications (desirable).

  • Fluent in English and French (spoken and written) preferred, to collaborate with stakeholders in Quebec, Ontario and across the United States.

  • Collaborative business mindset with strong work ethics.

  • Flexible and able to quickly adapt to change (embraces change).

  • Team player and proactive to support other team members when required..

  • Provide recommendations by accounting for business context (operational, financial, etc)

  • Ability to propose and negotiate solutions and initiatives.

  • Autonomous and takes ownership of their function.

  • Strong problem solving skills.

  • Capable of understanding technical details and then presenting in layman’s terms to a less technical audience (eg. executives, product owners, etc).
