People & Culture Services is recruiting on behalf of a 1400 head Sow Barn located near Tavistock, Ontario. We are looking for a Sow Barn Manager to join the team.

This Sow Barn Manager position is an opportunity to work with an established team, provide leadership and ensure the overall well-being of this site. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands on, teaching people and working with a team to achieve success for all involved.

Job Duties:

• Overall responsibility for animal care, daily chores, production activities and barn maintenance
• Ensure all required barn activities are done well and completed in a timely manner including breeding, farrowing and daily chores
• Participate actively with the team to complete tasks
• Manage staff to ensure the operation runs smoothly and efficiently
• Schedule, train and support other team members
• Ensure all required biosecurity measures are adhered to
• Ensure accurate record keeping remains a priority
• Work with service providers to maximize care and productivity
• Implement action plans to meet farm specific goals

Requirements for Application:

· 5 or more years of experience working in a Sow Barn

· Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to read, write and speak English

· Desire to keep the animals and the barn in excellent condition

· Flexible availability – weekend work is required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $26.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
