We are seeking an organized and enthusiastic Staff Accountant to join our dedicated team. This position is in office, the successful candidate is expected to be in our Burlington Support Centre location 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday. Minimum 20 hours a week, more hours may be available during busy times or vacation coverage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Processing of financial entries to ensure a proper recording of all business transactions
• Perform reconciliations of ban accounts and credit cards, prepare and post journal entries.
• Work closely with the Accounts Payable team to assist in processing invoices and reconciling vendor balances
• Prepare external fling reports and reconciliation (e.g. Regional reporting)
• Process bi-weekly parent payments
• Prepare income tax receipts
• Assist the Controller with the annual audit
• Acts as backup for AP team members
• Support Controller in preparing the annual budget and monthly budget to actual analysis
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Accounting Diploma required.
• Related accounting work experience required – minimum 2 years
• Experience working in accounting software required
• Proficient with Excel and entire MS office suite
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Through knowledge of general ledger and accounting reconciliations
• Organized and able to meet tight deadlines
• Effective written and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
