Weston Manufacturing, a prominent figure in the structural steel industry, is in search of a proficient and driven Structural Project Engineer to complement our vibrant Estimation team. As our Structural Project Engineer, you will be entrusted with the pivotal responsibility of overseeing projects from their inception at the contract award stage with clients, right through to the seamless handoff to our production teams. Our scope of projects spans industrial and commercial ventures across the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and BC.
In this role, you will:
- Navigate the entire project lifecycle, ensuring smooth progression from contract award to production handoff.
- Foster effective coordination among clients, ownership, and production teams to ensure projects are executed punctually and successfully.
- Assume final approval authority for all engineered products slated for production.
- Engage in collaborative efforts with Estimation and Operations Management to meticulously plan and execute projects.
- Spearhead bid preparations, compile requisite documentation, and liaise with third-party contractors throughout project execution.
- Conduct on-site visits for quality control inspections and to maintain client relationships.
- Vigilantly oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Uphold compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of superior project management and Structural Engineering practices.
- Maintain transparent communication channels with all stakeholders involved in the projects.
Requirements:
- Hold a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation.
- Demonstrate experience in Structural Engineering, preferably within the steel industry of 3-5 years.
- Exhibit proficiency in structural analysis software.
- Showcase strong project management acumen, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Display willingness to travel to job sites and accommodate occasional long hours.
- Work seamlessly within a team-oriented environment.
