Structural/Miscellaneous Steel Detailer

Fortran Steel Contracting is currently looking for to hire a full-time Structural/Miscellaneous Steel Detailerto join our team. The role of the Structural/Miscellaneous Steel Detailer supports projects by creating a 3D model, assembly drawings, erection diagrams and digital information from client specifications, layout drawings, design sketches. Using 3D modeling software, the detailer provides assembly drawings & electronic files to the shop for fabrication and erection diagrams.

Qualifications:

- Experience in Structural and Miscellaneous steel construction

- Ability to read Structural and Architectural drawings

- 3-5 years experience in steel detailing

- Ability to multitask with minimal guidance to meet scheduled delivery dates

- Strong organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities:

- Create 3D model designs based on Project Requirements

- Review and analyze drawing and sketches to determine appropriate connections and input into the system

- Respond to any request for changes from the customer and work with the Project Manager in troubleshooting client problems

- Prepare clear, complete, and accurate assembly and erection drawings indicating dimensions, tolerances, fastening and joining requirements Project correspondence and maintenance

- Assist with any challenges or questions in the fabrication and erection stages

- Attend project meeting with engineers, architects and general contractors when required

- Review contract drawings and specifications to identify any unusual or unique aspects

- Work with Project Managers to best maintain project schedules with the resources allotted

- Inform Project manager if changes in information results in extra scope, extra cost, or extra time needed for the project

Schedule:

- Monday to Thursday 730am to 5pm Friday 730am to 4pm

- Overtime as required to meet project deadlines
