Position Title:Summer Student - Credit Analyst (4 - Month Term)

Team and Location: Finance, Middle Office - Calgary, AB

Position Summary:

The Credit AnalystSummer Student will support our STaR Credit team for a 4-Month Term. As a vital member of our STaR Credit team, you will be instrumental in contributing to the enhancement of our credit processes and risk assessment strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive financial statement analysis of existing customers, providing valuable insights to support credit assessments and decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the seamless onboarding process for new customers and vendors, ensuring adherence to credit policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the team to perform credit re-assessments of existing customers, contributing to informed decision-making and proactive risk management.
  • Engage in ad hoc projects aimed at streamlining credit operations and supporting the STaR Credit team's objectives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • You are available for a 4-Month Term beginning on or around May 2024
  • You are currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution working towards a bachelor's degree in Business with a focus on Economics, Finance, or Accounting; the candidate must be in the 2nd or 3rd year of their program; candidates with an interest in supply and trading would be preferred.
  • You have exceptional interpersonal skills and possess natural leadership as demonstrated in academic and/or extracurricular activities.
  • You have highly developed verbal and written communication skills to enable you to thrive in a challenging and exciting work environment.
  • You are a creative and analytical thinker with some project management skills who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have tenacity and an entrepreneurial spirit, and are passionate about seeking out win-win solutions.
  • You have strong MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • You will be part of a global team and must be able to work effectively through a high degree of collaboration and communication through in-person meetings and video conferences.
