The student will conduct site visits, evaluate permit holder exercises, and receive an introduction to Emergency Management plans.
The Security & Emergency Management branch directly supports BCER’s mandate to protect public safety and the environment, providing oversight of regulated oil, gas, and geothermal companies, contributing to the organization’s overall risk awareness of each permit holder.
Summer students are a valuable part of the BCER workforce. Reporting to the Senior Emergency Management Analyst, the Summer Student will receive an orientation to the work of BCER and the branch, including site visits to energy operators, participation in permit holder exercise evaluation process, and an introduction to Emergency Management plans as required by regulations and standards.

Salary: $1,529 to $1,529
Bi-weekly, based on a 35-hour work week
An additional 3% Location Allowance will be added to posted salary for northern location.
An additional 6% Vacation Pay will be added to posted salary.
An additional $.84 per working hour, up to $58.80, Health & Welfare Allowance will be added to posted salary.
