NOTE: This role is posted for STRAIGHT AFTERNOON SHIFT (3 PM to 11:30 PM), Monday - Friday
How will you make an impact:
Schedules and oversees activities within the various areas of Processing daily to ensure deadlines (both schedule and project related) are being maintained. Continuously monitors area to ensure Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety standards are met and adhered to.
What you will do:
- Schedules area personnel daily/weekly by referring to the master production schedule.
- Provides training and guidance to manufacturing staff.
- Assists / Troubleshoots problems and participates in resolution of issues as they arise on the shift.
- Monitors employee performance and provides feed back to respective manager as required.
- Recommends procedural changes and efficiency improvements for the area. Continually audits the floor to ensure Good Manufacturing Practices/safety compliance.
- Participates in the recruitment process for new manufacturing staff.
- Investigates and provides information for Deviation Reports (DRs).
- Selects, develops and evaluates staff to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Works with and advises staff on administrative policies and procedures.
- Performs alternating or rotating shift work
Education:
University degree is required. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience.
Equivalency:
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of at least one functional processing area and related equipment and procedures. Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). Excellent communication skills as well as proven interpersonal abilities. Proficiency using Microsoft Office software applications. Proficiency with the English language.
