About the position

We are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to fill the role of Technical Lead.

What you will be doing

As a Technical Lead at Trew Knowledge, you will be accountable for defining the technical vision, framework and standards for all technical aspects of the digital solutions through the WordPress VIP environment. You will work in close collaboration with designers, product owners and project management to ensure the technical vision aligns with client needs. You will also partner with product owners throughout the development cycle to ensure technical quality of team deliverables meet the established standards. Additionally, you will help build capability within the development team by empowering members in the resolution of technical issues and challenges and you will be asked to identify and evaluate new technologies for potential adoption to digital solutions.

More specifically you will:

- Understand users needs and define the technical vision, framework and standards to be presented to development teams accountable for the delivery of client digital solutions.
- Set technical aspects for each project including the programming languages to be used and the tools required for project completion.
- Drive the high-level architectural discussions with the project team and other stakeholders to ensure product strategy is supported.
- Partner with Product Owners and development teams to review the overall technical vision and break down feature epics into user stories and tasks.
- Create and maintain detailed technical design documents and ensure the maintenance of these documents.
- Lead Sprint demos and work with Product Owners and development team during backlog refinement and resolution of technical issues and challenges.
- Perform code reviews and ensure best practices are applied to align with the business’ overall strategy.
- Oversee the technical implementation of digital initiatives by working closely with developers to ensure all aspects of the website development are properly implemented.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize disruptions and maintain project momentum.
- Respond to technical questions directed to members of the project teams (Product Owners, Designers, Project Management Office) or other stakeholders.
- Generate detailed reports with a focus on relevant development metrics and KPIs, focusing on the accomplished, planned, and blocked tasks.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools, make recommendations for adoption based on their suitability and potential to enhance digital solution performance.
- Mentor and coach development team members when necessary by providing honest and constructive feedback.

Who you are

You possess the following:

- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with a track record of delivering mid to large size systems
- 2+ years of experience leading teams, ideally in web or application development
- Solid understanding of WordPress at an enterprise level (WordPress VIP)
- Proficiency in Node.js, Vue.js, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Git, cloud-based systems – Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of database concepts, both SQL and NoSQL
- Experience working with Agile teams and practices
- Experience managing and prioritizing effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.

Salary: $86,800.00-$108,500.00 per year
