Technical Lead - Cyber Threat Researcher (Gcs)

RBC Cyber Intelligence team is looking for a Technical Lead - Cyber Threat Researcher to join our team. In this role, you will actively lead the research on Cyber Threats and adversaries, develop and distribute analytical products that inform security, leadership, and business decision-making.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Triage, process and analyze threat data from various intelligence sources and communities of interest.
• Conduct targeted research into various types of cyber related issues including Cybercrime and Espionage operations, Vulnerability and Data breach disclosure, Malware and TTPs, etc.
• Perform malware analysis, including hacking tools and crimeware.
• Inform technical and operational teams on relevant threats and risks.
• Provide real time support to incident response teams both leading up to and during the incident management process.
• Produce weekly, monthly and on demand finished intelligence reports and analytical products. Edit reports written by other team members and provide constructive feedback.
• Advance existing service offerings by creating improved processes and procedures.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to communicate threat research findings.
• Collaborate with external partners and vendors to develop innovative solutions to intelligence issues.
• Lead and mentor team members to help grow the cyber intelligence operation.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Security or related field, and 5+ years’ experience as a cyber intelligence analyst, incident responder, threat hunter, malware reverse engineer, or similar role.
• Experienced with all aspects of the intelligence cycle and proven knowledge of typical adversary and intrusion set tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Ability to identify and apply appropriate Threat Intelligence terms and frameworks to track and communicate adversary capabilities or activities. Familiar with intelligence analysis tools including Threat Intel Platforms (TIPs).
• Understanding of the Global Cyber Threat Landscape including threat groups, attack vectors and methods of exploitation impacting the Finance Sector as well as regions RBC operates in.
• Familiar with intelligence analysis tools including Threat Intel Platforms (TIPs).
• Ability to manage, prioritize, and execute with minimal direction or oversight in a high-pressure environment.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in investigative journalism.
• Experience working in large scale security operations especially for large corporations, military or government organizations.
• Experience with static and dynamic malware analysis of Windows binaries, using tools such as Ghidra, IDA Pro, x64dbg, dnSpy and Wireshark.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically.
