Number of Available Positions: One (1) Temporary - Full time Position
We are looking for a Utility Planning Clerk to join our team!
In this role, you will be responsible for working with the Scheduling Optimization team to ensure that all utility services work and resources are properly prioritized and assigned as per company policies and processes.

Note: This vacancy is being posted as a Utility Planning Clerk however, in the future will be combined with other Planning & Dispatch roles (i.e. Utility Services Planner and Planner) and will be titled Execution Support Clerk. The duties and responsibilities are subject to change and future grading of the role will be dependent on the results of a formal job evaluation.
Important Note: This role is considered safety sensitive, and as such, you may be required to undergo various background screenings. This may include but is not limited to a driving record abstract, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.
What You Will Do (Responsibilities):
  • Work cooperatively with Scheduling Optimization to ensure all Utility Services work and resources are properly prioritized and assigned per the company policies and processes
  • Creating future utility services work ensuring all work is ready to be completed by the due date and/or as committed with the customer
  • Responsible to ensure that the work assignment optimizes the productive time of the resources and work is planned in a reasonable, efficient and safe manner
  • Responsible to maintain leak tracking and manager follow up service orders
  • Coordinate availability of required equipment and work with external and internal customers. Prepares and distributes work packages and job planning envelopes as required for Utility Services
  • Coordinate restoration post job completion
  • Monitor and address the necessary email folders. Work will include written or verbal customer correspondence. Maintains effective communication with all internal departments and external contacts.
  • Perform other departmental duties as required includes but not limited to providing support in district emergencies.
Who You Are (Qualifications):
  • Minimum secondary school graduate; Some post-secondary education preferred.
  • Experience in field operations preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with Computer Applications supporting Workload Planning preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CIS, GIS and Maximo preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated working knowledge of MS Word and Excel with the ability/aptitude to learn computer systems and the mechanized planning and dispatch systems, etc.
  • Must be capable of learning and interpreting Company policies, procedures and work codes.
  • Must be able to print and/or write in a clear and legible manner with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work responsibly under direct and indirect supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, manage multiple tasks at once, and interpret line locate drawings.
