Summary:
The Cost Accountant's role involves creating, implementing, or upholding a standard cost accounting system. They will be responsible for tasks like creating journal entries, managing ledger accounts, gathering data, cost allocation, report generation, and ensuring adherence to established procedures. Additionally, they will prepare financial statements and variance reports upon request.
As a Cost Accountant, You Will:
- Assist operation managers in month end accrual preparation, variance analysis
- Participate in monthly operational meetings
- Prepare ad hoc report as requested
- Reconcile inventory purchase on a monthly basis to make sure purchase in JDE is tied to purchase in bi-weekly report if applicable
- Follow up and update notes on AR and HB AR
- Review receiving not vouchered report to ensure there is no duplicate receiving.
- Reforecast for certain components of the budget to capture variances
- Assist in annual budget and reforecast and participate in budget review meeting
- Assist in providing backup for quarterly/year end audit
What you will bring:
- Post-secondary education in accounting preferred
- Strong communication skills; both in writing and verbally
- Demonstrated ability to analyze situations and issues effectively and systematically
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member across the organization
- The ability to work towards long-term deliverables with numerous milestones and targets;
- Strong computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word,etc.), Microsoft Teams and Adobe
