Trade & Transportation Specialist

As a Trade & Transportation Specialist for Motion business, you will be responsible for implementing and continuously optimizing the local trade and transportation operations by effectively managing daily operational KPI’s and by driving the continuous improvement processes, tools and services. Reporting to Operations Manager, you will be developing, maintaining and improving cost parameters via transport/documentation processes to optimize inbound and/or outbound processes and delivery of goods to external and internal clients.This position is based in Singapore.

Your responsibilities

• Collaborating with the warehouse team or 3PL (third-party logistics provider) to verify that all relevant processes for unloading/loading are in place, controlled and documented
• Monitoring and evaluating the performance of 3PL provider against agreed-upon benchmarks
• Supporting strategic plans for transportation matters, aligned with overall business goals
• Utilizing business intelligence platform and data analysis to optimize transportation routes, minimizing cost and transit time
• Evaluating and selecting 3PL service providers based on their capabilities, experience and performance metrics support contract negotiations upon contract expiration
• Implementing Key Performance Indicator (KPIs) to measure effectiveness and efficiency of 3PL warehouse operations
• Supporting the development and implementation of improved processes and systems (i.e., OMS, SAP, TMS)
• Ensuring shipments comply with customs, trade and transportation regulations to avoid delays and penalties

Your background

• Degree or diploma in logistics and supply chain management
• At least 2-4 years of other working experience in the related fields, who is familiar with power generation, consumption/related applications and service methodologies, customer service oriented with excellent communication skills
• Strong in process optimization and to inculcate LEAN mindsets in team members
• Experience in managing a Regional Logistics Centre of a similar industry
• A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines
• A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
