Position Summary: The Instructor must be able to teach and have full knowledge and expertise in the following courses:

· Fundamentals of Organizational Communications

· Introduction to Social Work and Community Practice

· Ethics and Professional Skills

· Community Service Work in Canada

· Law for Support Workers, Human Rights, and Government Services

· Community Development in Canada

· Introduction to Sociology

· Introduction to Canadian Social Welfare and Social Policy

· Housing and Homelessness

· Fund Raising for Social Change

· Strategic Planning for Not-for-profit Organization: An Overview

· Professional Documentation and Employment Strategies

· Counselling Skills and Theory

· Group Dynamics

· Self Care and Team Building

· High-Risk Population

· Social Psychology and Geriatrics

· Introduction to Community Mental Health and Addiction

· Harm Reduction and Crisis Intervention

· Preparation for Field and Professional Practice

Requirements:

· A Diploma in Community Service Worker program with a minimum of two years of full-time social work practice. A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work (BSW) is preferred.

· Experience with adult teaching experience an asset

· Excellent lesson planning, computer, communication, presentation, and organizational skills are preferred.

CACC is temporarily delivering courses onlineand is expected to return to normal in-class instructions per Ministry direction.

Job Type: Monday to Thursday. 9:30 am-3:00 pm.
